My paintings and photographs are deeply personal and autobiographical, reflecting my struggles with mental health, such as anxiety and dissociation. Through my art, I hope to share my experiences and foster a sense of connection and relatability with my viewers. My work often focuses on difficult moments and emotions, with a particular focus on themes of uncanniness and darkness. My main focus of exploration is how these themes can be understood in a way that offers comfort rather than fear, providing a sense of escape from reality through uncanny moments or the comfort found in darkness. I often paint my closest friends, capturing the essence of those I miss or with whom I have shared significant moments. I explore the theme of nostalgia and passing (literal and metaphorical). Even though, some of the works and themes seem serious they shouldn’t be fully treated in this way. Sometimes its simply not that deep…..or is it….it’s for you to decide really.
